Frequently
Asked Questions
Q:
How long will the refinishing last?
A: It depends enitrely on how well you take care of the
surface. As pointed out in our written warranty, you are not to
use any abrasives such as scouring pads or abrasive
cleaners. A soft sponge with a standard non-abrasive liquid
cleaner such as 409, Fantastic, Simple Green, etc will work fine.
Treat the finished surface as you would the finish on a new car.
You wouldn't use scouring pads or harsh abrasive chemicals on your
car's finish, right? The same applies to your new refinished
surface. Take care of the finish and you can expect many years of
good service. Under normal use, we will guarantee tub, tile,
shower and counter top finishes for 5 years, providing the precautions
as stated above are met.
Q: How long does the work take?
A: It takes one day to do all the prep work and refinishing.
After the last coat is applied, the surface needs 24 hours
to dry.
Q: What does it cost?
A: That's a question we answer in person, after we have inspected
the work to be done. We always give free estimates with no
obligations. Our prices are very reasonable and we do quality
work with the best refinishing products available today.
Q: How is the work paid for?
A: We accept cash, personal checks, company checks and most major
credit cards. Full payment is expected at completion of work.
Q. What kind of products do you use?
A. Our refinishing products come from the aerospace industry -
they are used on the B-1 bomber and the Space Shuttle! They are
designed to withstand very high temperatures and very high
velocities. Since your
bathtub will never travel at Mach 10 or reach 2,000 degrees in
temperature, our resurfacing will last and last and last!
Q: I had this done before by
somebody else and it didn't last 6 months! Why?
A: Some refinishers cut corners by not using the
right products. We've seen them use cheap auto paint with
no primer! We've had to repair some of their work and the old
paint just peels right off, sometimes with only a fingernail! In
addition, some refinishers have no formal training - they don't know
what they are doing.
Our refinishers are factory trained and certified. The products
we use are the absolute best in the industry. The result is that
you get a high quality job that you can be proud of for years to come.
Q: Are you a mainland company?
A: No! We are a locally owned and operated company based in
Honolulu and we serve the entire island of Oahu. We live here
just like you. We understand local traditions and values.
As an example, we will always remove our shoes before we enter your
home. We treat you like family because it's the right thing to
do. We want your business now and in the future as well.
